Moderatpers.com – Dicky Edyano Putra, atau yang akrab disapa Dicky, salah satu alumni Pesantren Tebuireng yang kini menjadi Pimpinan Redaksi (Pimred) media berita nasional Swanara.com. Lahir di Tangerang, 24 Maret 1983, Dicky menjadi santri Tebuireng pada tahun 1999 dan bersekolah di Madrasah Aliyah Salafiyah Syafi’iyah jurusan IPA hingga 2002.

Saat ditemui pada acara Gelar Karya Halal bi Halal dan Temu Alumni Nasional Ikatan Alumni Pesantren Tebuireng (Ikapete) pada Kamis, (26/05) kemarin, ia bercerita tentang perjalanannya menjadi wartawan.

Bermula dari kecintaannya pada dunia literasi, Dicky sempat tergabung di media alumni Tebuireng, yaitu Bangsa Online, yang berpusat di Surabaya. “Disana saya belajar banyak tentang jurnalisme.  Dari situ akhirnya saya mulai bekerja di media-media lain,” jelasnya.

Usai menyelesaikan studinya di Tebuireng, Dicky kemudian melanjutkan kuliah di Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto dengan mengambil jurusan peternakan. Meskipun tak ada sangkut pautnya dengan dunia jurnalistik, ia tetap menyalurkan hobinya itu dengan menjadi wartawan di Koran Tangerang Raya.

“Dulu sempat gabung Pers Mahasiswa, tapi hanya mengambil sertifikat saja, yaitu Pelatihan Jurnalistik Tingkat Dasar (PJTD). Jadi, hitungannya belum sampai anggota,” tegasnya.

Setelah lulus kuliahpun, bapak 2 anak itu memilih untuk melanjutkan karirnya di dunia berita daripada linear dengan jurusannya. Ia sempat beberapa kali pindah perusahaan media, dan mengalami berbagai ancaman, penyekapan, serta represi salama menjadi wartawan.

“Tapi itu semua gak masalah. Karena kecintaan saya terhadap pers inilah yang membuat saya gak takut,” tegasnya.

Ia pun mengajak para santri dan alumni Tebuireng untuk mencintai dunia jurnalistik. Karena menurutnya, jurnalistik merupakan salah satu jihad yang dapat dilakukan, apalagi di tengah gempuran kecanggihan teknologi.

“Karena, santri itu nantinya memiliki profesi yang beragam. Gak semuanya harus jadi kiai atau ustadz. Ada yang jadi pengusaha, anggota dewan, wartawan, dll,” katanya.

Ia pun berpesan kepada Pers Mahasiswa agar tidak serta merta pilih-pilih berita dan harus menuliskan berita yang akurat dan berimbang, serta menumbuhkan jiwa independen sejak dini. Karena menurutnya, wartawan sudah dilindungi oleh UU Pers, maka apabila ada represi dan kesalahan saat liputan, ada hukum yang mengikat.

“Jangan lupa baca buku tentang pers dan ilmu-ilmu jurnalistik. Karena sekarang ini banyak jurnalis kurang literasi dan pengetahuan. Akibatnya, banyak wartawan amplop yang beritanya bisa dibeli. Seharusnya kita menjadi orang yang memberikan informasi akurat dan memerangi berita hoaks,” tutupnya.
