Moderatpers.com – Al-Karimiyah merupakan salah satu nama pondok pesantren yang berdiri di sebelah utara Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang. Dikutip dari Majalah Tebuireng, Al-Karimiyah merupakan pesantren semi salaf yang fokus pada kajian ilmu agama dengan menggunakan kitab turats dan pendidikan formal. Di pesantren ini sangat mengedepankan pendidikan akhlak bagi santrinya, karena menurut para masyayikhnya, akhlak seorang santri lebih penting dari yang lain.

Sebagai pendiri pondok pesantren Al-Karimiyah, Moch. Natsir Karim al-Hasyimi Cecep Surya Agama Abdul Karim Putra sebenarnya tidak ada keinginan untuk mendirikan pondok pesantren. Menurut penuturan istri beliau, Arina Hidayati Syamsudi, adanya pondok pesantren Al-Karimiyah dilatarbelakangi oleh satu anak yang ingin berkhidmah kepada Gus Cecep, sapaan akrab Kiai Natsir Karim. “Jadi, Gus Dur itu sedo (wafat) tahun 2009 akhir, sekitar 2 bulan dari itu ada anak yang ingin nderek ke Abah (Gus Cecep),” jelas Ning Rina (Sapaan akrab Arina Hidayati Syamsudi) saat diwawancara di kediamannya.

Ketika peristiwa tersebut terjadi, Al-Karimiyah belum terbentuk dan belum resmi menjadi sebuah pesantren. Namun, seiring berjalannya waktu dan bertambahnya santri, pada awal tahun 2011 didirikanlah Madrasah Diniyah Al-Karimiyah. Kemudian, pada tahun 2015 didirikan yayasan K.H Abdul Karim Hasyim, yang akhirnya menjadi pondok pesantren Al-Karimiyah. Ketika santri Al-Karimiyah bertambah menjadi 17 santri, Gus Cecep meminta bantuan dari santri pondok pesantren Lirboyo Kediri untuk mengajar di Al-Karimiyah.

Gus Cecep merupakan sosok yang memiliki pemikiran fleksibel dan tidak ribet. Ia hanya berharap kepada santri Al-Karimiyah bisa berbuat baik dan menjauhi maksiat dimana pun berada. Ia tidak peduli dengan kepintaran yang dimiliki santrinya, karena menurut cucu K.H Hasyim Asy ’ari ini kecerdasan dan kepintaran yang dimiliki oleh seseorang itu pemberian dari Allah. “Bagi beliau (Gus Cecep) santri itu yang perlu diopeni itu adalah dia menuju akhlak yang baik, kalau masalah pintar itu bukan urusan kita. Itu dulu abah dawuh.” Kata Ning Rina.

Ning Rina berharap pondok pesantren Al-Karimiyah menjadi panutan pondok-pondok lain dalam urusan tata krama dan sopan santun. Ning Rina sendiri lebih bangga kepada santri yang memiliki akhlak yang baik dari pada santri pintar yang tidak memiliki akhlak. Selain itu, istri Gus Cecep ini berharap dengan adanya pondok pesantren yang mengedepankan pendidikan akhlak seperti Al-Karimiyah, dapat mengubah pandangan orang-orang zaman sekarang yang menganggap tata krama dan sopan santun adalah sesuatu yang kuno atau ketinggalan zaman. “Itu kita hilangkan. Akhlak itu selamanya, harus tetap kita pertahankan,” pungkas Ning Rina.
