Berada di bawah kepemimpinan Presiden Soekarno, Bursa Efek Jakarta yang kini menjadi Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) kembali dibuka setelah sekian lama ditutup akibat Perang Dunia II dan anjloknya harga saham.
“Adanya peringatan hari Pasar Modal menurut saya penting dan harus di suarakan lebih luas, agar semua masyarakat familiar dengan pasar modal. Jika demikian, maka masyarakat akan termotivasi lebih untuk mengenal Pasar Modal Indonesia.” Tutur Choirun Nisful Laili, S.E., M.M atau yang kerap disapa Bu Ninis (Penanggung Jawab Galeri Investasi BEI FE Universitas Hasyim Asy’ari).
Dewasa ini, perkembangan pasar modal di Indonesia semakin baik. Jika ditinjau dari jumlah investor, investor domestik terus mengalami peningkatan sebagaimana data yang dirilis oleh Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI). Namun, jumlah investor yang terus meningkat ini masih perlu diimbangi dengan ajakan untuk menambah ilmu dan wawasan tentang pasar modal agar kedepannya bisa menjadi investor yang bertanggung jawab, tidak hanya transaksi berdasarkan rekomendasi pihak lain.
Peringatan hari Pasar Modal yang sudah mencapai usia lebih dari separuh abad, tentunya transaksi yang selama itu tidak ternilai nominalnya. Namun mirisnya, selama puluhan tahun pasar modal kita di kuasai oleh investor asing ketimbang rakyat pribumi atau investor domestik. Dewasa ini, memang telah kita ketahui bahwa sedikit demi sedikit Indonesia bangkit dari keterpurukan tersebut. Investor domestik mulai mendominasi dan melebarkan sayapnya di lantai bursa Indonesia.
Salah satu hal yang dapat membantu mensosialisasikan pasar modal kepada khalayak umum adalah dengan keberadaannya Galeri Investasi Bursa Efek Indonesia (GI BEI) di tiap-tiap perguruan tinggi, serta perannya mahasiswa di Kelompok Studi Pasar Modal (KSPM). “Adanya GI ini adalah salah satu perpanjangan tangan kedua belah pihak (antara kampus dengan BEI dan Perusahaan Sekuritas) untuk dapat meningkatkan tingkat literasi Pasar Modal Indonesia yang masih sangat minim. GI membantu masyarakat menjadi lebih dekat jika ingin mencari tahu dan ingin memulai menjadi investor di pasar modal.” Jelasnya saat di wawancari pada Rabu, (02/06).
Peran pasar modal bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan ekonomi di Indonesia sangatlah penting. Pertama, dapat dilihat dari nilai transaksi yang berputar di pasar modal, jumlahnya tentu tidak sedikit. Hal itu menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar transaksi ekonomi terletak pada pasar modal. Kedua, pasar modal menjadi salah satu sumber pendanaan bagi perusahaan. Semakin banyak perusahaan yang mendapat bantuan dana dari pasar modal, maka semakin banyak perusahaan yang terbantu dan mampu meningkatkan performanya untuk mewujudkan berbagai rencana ekspansi dan dapat membantu bergeraknya sektor-sektor riil dalam negeri.
Pesannya di peringatan Hari Pasar Modal tahun ini adalah supaya para investor domestik di Indonesia dapat mendalami ilmu pasar modal, supaya dapat menjadi tuan rumah di negeri sendiri. Dengan ilmu yang memadai, tentunya dapat menjadi seorang ahli yang bisa mengedukasi dan menginspirasi. Seorang investor yang kompeten tentunya dapat merasakan dampak berinveatsi di pasar modal, dan menyadari bahwa pasar modal memang tempat harta karun yang terpendam. Di era yang serba digital ini, sudah waktunya berubah dari saving society menjadi investing society. “Jadikan pasar modal kita adalah rumah kita, bukan rumah investor asing.
