Segerombolan bocah menari-nari dibawah terik
Bersenandung tawa sembari berlari-lari
Tanpa baju usang serta alas pelindung kaki

Si Hitam bertambah legam menyerupai panggang sapi
Si Putih kemerah-merahan bagai cabai yang matang merona

Tepat sang surya bertahta di atas kepala
Riak air menggelegar memecah keheningan
Bocah-bocah itu tak kuasa lagi menahan kegersangan
Serentak berlari ke danau menceburkan diri tanpa perhitungan
Sementara para orang tua asik terlelap di atas dipan

Tiada lagi senandung tawa yang menggelegar
Tiada lagi bising suara yang terdengar
Semua bisu menyaksikan tubuh mereka mengambang
Suasana berubah mendung hingga hujan tak terbendung
Namun pepohonan, jalanan, maupun tanah tak basah sedikit pun

Jika sudah demikian, siapa yang disalahkan
Orang tua yang tertuduh akan kelalaian?
Anak-anak yang bandel akan larangan?
Masyarakat yang kecolongan dengan pengawasan?
Atau pihak-pihak yang seketika bersembunyi dibalik semak saat kabar mulai tersiar?


Apapun itu, kenyataannya tetap sama
Danau yang biru telah merenggut nyawa satu persatu
Tanggung jawab yang hanya mampu dijawab,
Perlahan menciptakan danau penghisap

Sungguh, biadab!
