Santri merupakan kelompok masyarakat yang memiliki peran penting dalam sejarah Indonesia. Sejak masa kolonial, santri telah terlibat dalam perjuangan melawan penjajah dan memperjuangkan kemerdekaan Indonesia. Identitas nasionalisme santri kolonial terbentuk karena peran mereka dalam perjuangan kemerdekaan. Santri kolonial memiliki kesadaran akan pentingnya mempertahankan kemerdekaan dan membangun negara yang merdeka dan berdaulat. Identitas nasionalisme santri kolonial ini terus berkembang hingga saat ini.

Transformasi santri milenial juga terjadi dalam beberapa dekade terakhir. Santri milenial memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dengan santri kolonial. Mereka hidup di era digital dan memiliki akses yang lebih mudah terhadap informasi. Santri milenial juga memiliki kesadaran akan pentingnya membangun negara yang lebih baik, namun dengan cara yang berbeda. Mereka lebih terbuka terhadap perubahan dan lebih kritis dalam menyikapi isu-isu sosial dan politik.

Transformasi santri milenial juga terlihat dalam peran mereka dalam membangun masyarakat. Santri milenial tidak hanya terlibat dalam kegiatan keagamaan, namun juga terlibat dalam kegiatan sosial dan politik. Mereka terlibat dalam kegiatan-kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kondisi sosial dan politik di Indonesia.

Dalam era globalisasi, identitas nasionalisme santri kolonial dan transformasi santri milenial menjadi penting dalam membangun Indonesia yang lebih baik. Identitas nasionalisme santri kolonial menjadi dasar untuk membangun kesadaran akan pentingnya mempertahankan kemerdekaan dan membangun negara yang merdeka dan berdaulat. Sementara itu, transformasi santri milenial menjadi dasar untuk membangun kesadaran akan pentingnya beradaptasi dengan perubahan dan terlibat dalam membangun masyarakat yang lebih baik.

Dalam hal ini, peran pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam juga sangat penting. Pesantren dapat menjadi tempat untuk memperkuat identitas nasionalisme santri kolonial dan mengembangkan transformasi santri milenial. Pesantren dapat menjadi tempat untuk memperkuat kesadaran akan pentingnya mempertahankan kemerdekaan dan membangun negara yang lebih baik, serta mengembangkan karakter santri milenial yang terbuka terhadap perubahan dan kritis dalam menyikapi isu-isu sosial dan politik.
