UKMP MÖDERAT – Setiap tanggal 28 April diperingati sebagai Hari Puisi Nasional. Tanggal tersebut pula merupakan tanggal wafatnya seorang pujangga, Chairil Anwar pada usia 26 tahun di tahun 1949. Seorang penyair yang dikenal dengan julukan “Binatang Jalang” ini pada masanya menelurkan karya-karya besar yang bertahan hingga sekarang. Karya-karya tersebut di antaranya adalah puisi berjudul “Aku”, “Diponegoro”, “Karawang-Bekasi”, dan “Doa”. Oleh sebab itu lah, nama Chairil Anwar dikenang dan diabadikan melalui peringatan Hari Puisi Nasional.
Latar Belakang Hari Puisi Nasional erat kaitannya dengan penyair Chairil Anwar. Chairil Anwar terkenal dengan gagasan puisinya yang mendobrak. Puisinya yang berjudul “Aku” dan ditulis pada tahun 1943 dimuat di majalah Timur pada tahun 1945. Puisi tersebut dianggap sebagai puisi yang memiliki pengaruh besar pada Angkatan ’45. Sajak-sajaknya mengembuskan jiwa, semangat dan cita-cita muda. Chairil Anwar setidaknya menghasilkan 94 karya tulisan pada periode 1942 hingga 1949. Karya-karya tersebut termasuk 70 sajak asli, 4 saduran, 10 tulisan terjemahan, 6 prosa asli serta 4 prosa terjemahan.
Puisi-puisi Chairil Anwar seperti para pejuang kemerdekaan pada zamannya juga banyak berisi perlawanan dan semangat merdeka. Chairil sendiri lahir sebagai anak tunggal dari pasangan Toeloes dan Saleha. Dari pihak ibu, Chairil memiliki pertalian darah dengan Mohamad Rasad, ayah Sutan Sjahrir dan wartawan perempuan Rohana Koedoes. Chairil senang membaca sejak kecil saat masih duduk di HIS dan MULO (sekolah yang setara dengan SD dan SMP). Bahkan di tingkat tersebut, Chairil telah melahap buku-buku untuk siswa HBS (setara SMA) pada saat itu. Kecintaannya pada literasi membawanya bertemu dengan teman-teman sastrawan yang lain, seperti Subagyo Sastrowardoyo, H.B. Jassin, dan lainnya.
Chairil Anwar mengidap Tuberculosis (TBC) hingga akhirnya meninggal pada 28 April 1949 di umur yang hampir mendekati 27 tahun. Tanggal wafatnya Chairil Anwar inilah yang kemudian dijadikan tanggal sebagai peringatan Hari Puisi Nasional karena Chairil adalah seorang penggebrak dunia puisi pada zamannya.
Sejarah Perkembangan Adanya Puisi di dunia – Puisi adalah karya tulis yang sangat indah yang pernah ada. Siapapun orangnya yang membaca puisi akan merasa takjub dan kagum melihat isinya. Pengertian puisi bisa dilihat dari berbagai sudut, begitupun dengan sejarah puisi khususnya dan kesastraan indonesia pada umumnya yang memiliki historisitas tersendiri.
Puisi Indonesia memiliki sejarah panjang dengan beberapa angkatan dari mulai angkatan balai pustaka, hingga angkatan kontemporer. Angkatan pertama yakni angkatan Balai Pustaka yang diantaranya berupa mantra, pantun, dan syair, soneta berupa puisi terikat.
Angkatan selanjutnya yakni angkatan Pujangga Baru (1933-1945), Angkatan 45 (1945-1953), Periode 1953-1961, Angkatan 66 (1963-1970). Masing-masing angkatan memiliki ciri khas yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi zaman, kondisi ekonomi dan politik sisi di anda tersebut. Misalnya angkatan 66 lebih didominasi oleh sajak sajak demonstrasi dan protes.
Sedangkan puisi kontemporer dimulai sejak tahun 1970an yang muncul dengan bentuk pada umumnya. Puisi dalam jenis ini yang penting adalah adanya eksplorasi permainan kata-kata dengan berbagai tema yang lebih kompleks seperti humanisme, religius, kritik sosial dan berbagai tema kekinian yang masif dan populer. Selanjutnya puisi juga kini memiliki tempat yang berbeda, misalnya jika sebelumnya puisi hanya bisa dinikmati media cetak kini puisi juga banyak dijumpai di sosial media.
